A striking French postmodern mirror designed by Philippe Starck for the Jean Paul Gaultier boutique in Cannes, France. The mirror features a wide frame composed of pale gray/blue tinted beveled glass panels with sharply mitered corners, surrounding a clean central mirror plate. Discreet exposed metal fasteners punctuate the glass frame, lending an industrial edge to the otherwise refined, architectural design.
Characteristic of Starck’s ability to combine minimalism with unexpected detail, the mirror has a strong geometric presence while remaining remarkably understated. Its cool-toned glass and generous proportions give the piece an almost architectural quality.
Originally installed in the Jean Paul Gaultier boutique in Cannes, the mirror was later acquired at auction and carries exceptional provenance connecting two influential figures in late 20th-century French design and fashion.

Born in Paris, Philippe Starck has worked as an architect and industrial designer. His furniture design includes use of these industrial materials and has been produced by Cassina and other international manufacturers. His work is seen in collections at European and American museums.
