Chest of drawers from France in the Louis XVI style. This piece is made of solid mahogany construction that has been ebonized and finished with a lustrous French polish of museum quality. There are three dovetailed drawers – a top, slimmer drawer above two larger drawers. The top drawer has a working lock and key original to the piece. All three feature gilt brass pulls. The chest has gilt brass detailing on the sides as well. The chest is supported by four toupee legs with brass feet. The chest also features an intact Carrara marble slab top. This piece is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
