The drawer fronts feature book-matched figured walnut panels framed with contrasting string inlay, while additional geometric veneer work radiates around the central escutcheons. Each drawer is fitted with a pair of finely cast brass pulls and a decorative brass key escutcheon.

The case is raised on four tapered legs, giving the commode a lighter, more architectural stance. Particularly noteworthy is the richness and movement of the walnut grain, which provides the primary ornamentation of the piece.
