Vitrine or bookcase from French in the Louis XVI style. This piece is made of striped mahogany with striking hand-crafted detail throughout. The top door opens to interior glass shelving and an antiqued mirrored back. The traverse is adorned with the finest gilt bronze frieze of waves in the “à L’Etrusque” style. The lower doors open to interior storage space. This fine cabinet is supported by fluted “toupies” legs and columns. 24 carat gold leafing and ridged brass detailing throughout. It is capped with an original Carrara marble slab top. It has been finished with a lustrous French polish finish. It is in excellent antique condition – the photos accurately depict the condition.
