An exceptionally elegant French Louis XVI style buffet vitrine, circa 1880, crafted in mahogany and finished in a rich ebonized surface. The architectural façade is beautifully balanced, with a central glazed cabinet flanked by open curved display shelves, all backed with beveled mirror panels that lend depth and luminosity to the piece.

The upper frieze is embellished with finely cast gilt-bronze ring pulls and particularly handsome ormolu foliate mounts, providing a striking contrast against the deep black finish. The buffet is crowned by a substantial and beautifully figured Calacatta marble slab, richly veined and remarkably preserved in intact condition.

The restrained neoclassical lines, mirrored interior, sophisticated ebonized finish and generous use of finely cast ormolu give this unusual buffet vitrine a distinctly luxurious presence. Both highly decorative and functional, it would make an exceptional serving cabinet, bar, or display piece in a refined interior.

This buffet is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
