Pair of architectural columns from Italy, circa 1910. This pair is made of Breccia pontifica marble, a rare multicolored stone from Sicily, Italy. The colorful marble was used extensively inside the Vatican and Saint Peter. These columns showcase a range of warm reds, burnt ochre, cream, and sage green colors. They are quite striking! Each can be taken apart into three pieces. They are completely hand-carved and in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
