Pair of side tables from  France from the Modernist period. The tables are made with a beautiful rosewood veneer in a classic mid-century design. They are supported by tapered legs and each feature a single drawer with brass hardware. They are in excellent vintage condition – the photos accurately depict the condition.

Originating in the 1950s-1960s, the Mid-Century Modern movement was based on functionality, simplicity, and an organic elegance. Many designers of the period championed the concept that good design could be for everyone. The material itself was used to create the design and dynamic beauty of the piece instead of relying on decorative ornamentation. New technologies gave way to new materials, such as vinyl and resin. Many designers and critics regard the Mid-Century Modern design aesthetic as honest and appealing. These qualities have helped the pieces stay relevant in a quickly changing world. As an interior style, Mid-Century Modern highlights notions of functionality and modern ease.
