Chest of drawers in the Louis XVI style from France. This piece is made of solid wood construction, primarily mahogany. It has been ebonized and finished with a lustrous museum-quality French polish with gilded ormulu throughout. Three dovetailed drawers are all adorned with gilt brass décor and the chest is supported by four tapered, fluted legs capped in brass. The chest has an intact and original Carrara marble slab top. It is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
