19th Century cylinder desk from France in the Louis XVI style. This desk has been finished with a lustrous French polish of museum quality. It is made of solid wood construction, primarily flamed Cuban mahogany. The top features a Carrara marble slab encircled by an open brass canopy. There are three dovetailed drawers across the top with faux brass key pulls. The main compartment opens to reveal interior drawers, functional storage space, and a leather covered writing surface that pulls out. Below, four dovetailed drawers add additional function. The desk is supported by four fluted legs all adorned with brass detailing and feet. It is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
