Side table, “bouillotte”, in the Louis XVI style from France. This table is made of solid wood construction, primarily rosewood. It has been finished with a lustrous French polish of museum quality. The body of the table features a lovely chevron parquetry pattern. The top is an original violet Brocatelle marble from the French Jura mountains. The marble is encircled by an open brass gallery. There are two dovetailed drawers on opposite sides of the table. There are also two pull out leaves topped with a tan marble and embossed with a gold frieze on each side. The drawers and leaves have brass pulls. The squared legs are tapered and capped with brass feet. The table is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
