Buffet from France made of solid wood construction, primarily mahogany. The buffet has been finished with a lustrous French polish of museum quality. There are three dovetailed drawers above three doors that open to interior shelving. The doors and drawers feature original cast brass hardware. The doors have an x- design and hand-carved details can be found throughout. The feet supporting the piece have added details. The original marble top is Grigio Carnico marble and has been professionally restored. The piece is stamped by furniture maker André Mailfert. Mailfert was a renowned furniture maker who made only the highest quality pieces in classic French styles, then passing off the items as originals to his clients. Writing about his work in a memoir, he became one of the most famous furniture “forgers”.

This piece is in very nice condition structurally with only light surface wear consistent with age and use. The marble has been professionally repaired. The photos accurately depict the condition.
