Pair of bookcases from France in the Louis XVI style. They are made of solid wood construction, primarily oak. The pair has been finished with a hand-painted milk paint in a dove gray Trianon color. The sides of each bookcase feature x-shaped stretchers all finished with gold leaf, the pieces feature finely cast bronze caps and gilt bronze feet. Each bookcase has three shelves. They are in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
