Buffet or enfilade from France made in the Louis XVI style. This piece is made of solid wood construction, primarily Rosewood and tinted Rosewood that has been finished in a lustrous French polish of museum quality. The doors showcase exquisite parquetry and marquetry designs each boasting a central fine floral marquetry design displaying a rich variety of woods (amboyna, lilac wood, burled yew ) and the skills of the craftsman. The sideboard apron and doors feature a rich décor of finely cast gilt Bronze friezes and trims. All five doors open to interior shelving with working locks and keys. The curved doors on the ends are also functional. This piece features gilt brass hardware throughout. The credenza is topped with an intact Carrara marble slab and is supported by tapered and fluted toupee feet. This buffet is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
