Bookcase from France made of solid wood construction that has been finished with an original green paint. The front of the bookcase is adorned with hand carved columns and a frieze of stylized waves and acanthus leaves in a very pure Etruscan style. The decor is decorated with gold leafing. Two doors are lined with original mercury mirrors. They open to interior wood shelving and have a working lock and key. One side of the interior is open while the other side has wooden shelving. This bookcase is in very nice antique condition – the photos accurately depict the condition. There are two very similar bookcases, this listing is for a single.
