Buffet or enfilade from France made in the Louis XVI style. This piece is made of solid wood construction, primarily Rosewood and figured African mahogany that has been finished in a lustrous French polish of museum quality. The doors showcase exquisite parquetry designs with the central and side curved doors boasting finely marqueted floral bouquets, displaying a rich variety of woods (amboyna, lilac wood, burled yew) and the skills of the craftsman. The five doors open to interior shelving with working locks and keys. The curved doors on the ends are also functional. This piece features gilt brass trims and hardware throughout. The credenza is topped with an intact Carrara marble slab and is supported by tapered toupee feet. This buffet is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
