Buffet from France in the Louis XVI style. This piece is made of solid wood construction, primarily rosewood and tinted rosewood that has been finished with a lustrous French polish of museum quality. The doors showcase exquisite marquetry designs boasting a central floral design and displaying a rich variety of woods like rosewood, tinted rosewood, amboyna, burled ash, and more. The sideboard’s apron features a rich decor of finely cast gilt bronze friezes and trims. The two doors open to interior wood shelving and have working locks and keys. A single dovetailed drawer also opens in the apron and both the doors and drawer have finely cast pulls and hardware. The credenza is topped with an intact Pietra Verde marble slab. This piece is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The photos accurately depict the condition.
